Wordpress SMF Bridge Plugin 1.0 BETA

What’s WP&SMF?
WP&SMF is a bridge which between Wordpress and SMF‘e (Simple Machines Forum). It’s a Wordpress plugin so everything works on Wordpress. Namely Wordpress and SMF run different each other. I test plugin on Wordpress 2.0.2/2.0.3/2.0.4 with SMF 1.1 RC2 versions and I don’t find any problem.

Features
1. When visitors register on Wordpress, automatically they register on SMF
2. When visitors login on Wordpress for their accounti, automatically they login SMF account. Also logout function like this.
3. When members update their profile on Wordpress.i, automatically their SMF profiles will be updated. And password changes is included in this feature.
4. If a member account delete on Wordpress, same account wil deleted on SMF member list.
5. Last SMF forum posts can showed on Wordpress.
6. Last SMF forum topics can showed on Wordpress.
7. Last SMF users can listed on Wordpress.
8. You can show total member number.
9. Some statistics will show on Wordpress like Total Members, Total Posts, Total Topics, Total Categories, Total Boards.
10. If you define the characters, all Latin characters showed witout any problem on UTF-8 character set.
11. You can translate plugin with language file.

How can install?

First click here and download plugin file. Upload “WP_SMF” folder under wordpress plugin directory (wp-content/plugins) which in the compressed file. Than active “WP & SMF” plugin on the wordpress plugin management page.
After active plugin, you can show a message which want to you define Settings.php file directory. You click the link on that message or click “WP&SMF Settings” on wordpress plugin management page. You write SMF forum full directory address in “SMF Path” textbox. Default address is FTP directory your host.

For example, this address like this for Plesk users; “/var/www/vhosts//httpdocs”. You can check this with your FTP software and you can write SMF directories after “httpdocs”. For control directory you can click “Save Settings”. If you write correct directory, notify message will not showed again.
If you can define your SMF forum directory correctly, installation can finished. That’s all..

Notes!
I say that plugin run without Smf. Son you must to learn some notes

1. You can delete password change and password reset links on your SMF forum. Because if members change their passwords on SMF profile, Wordpress will not update for this change. After this, same if same member login on wordpress, plugin can’t login him to SMF.
2. If members close their sessions on SMF, Wordpress sessions won’t closed.. So you can’t redirect this link to Wordpress logout link.
3. After new registrations on SMF forum, Wordpress can’t updated with new registration informations. Namely if visitors register on SMF, their SMF accounts can’t add Wordpress database. Son you can close SMF registrations.

You can show SMF forum statistics like Total Members, Total Posts, Total Topics, Total Categories, Total Boards on Wordpress.
